Fundamentals of Energy Work

This experiential, interactive course is designed to provide basic information and tools from a variety of energy work modalities. Students will have two days of presentations and basic training, followed by two days of working more in depth with areas of energy work they identify with and wish to experience at a deeper level. Faculty will work with small groups and individuals to bring a greater understanding of particular aspects of specific energy interests. Students will discover how to work within their own home or office and surrounding environment to bring about a more cohesive, stable energy field that will support them in their work.

The Syllabus will include:

  • basic personal energetic hygiene: centering, protection and clearing
  • perceiving and interpreting energy with your body
  • dowsing different scales with pendulum and dowsing rods
  • setting the energy of a physical space
  • basic principles of feng shui
  • building sacred altars
  • working with ritual objects
  • preparing and working with labyrinths
  • perceiving, interpreting and enhancing the radiance of energy off the ground
  • perceiving, interpreting and enhancing the energy of trees and natural environments
  • perceiving, interpreting and enhancing incoming cosmic energy
  • perceiving and interpreting the energy of your home at a distance
  • interpreting geomantic information in place-related myths
  • locating and engaging earth energy features
  • perceiving and understanding nature spirits
  • principles of energetic stewardship for resonant leadership

Faculty

Peter Merry

Peter is a co-founder of Wisdom University in Europe. He is also Chair of the Center for Human Emergence (Netherlands) and a founding partner of Engage!. He is a recognized expert in the field of evolutionary systems dynamics. He is the author of Evolutionary Leadership. He is an experienced designer of learning processes and host of collective inquiry and collaboration. He also has a background in theatre and folk music. Having experienced the limits of more traditional approaches to societal change, his current focus is on researching the application of noetic science, geomancy and quantum physics to whole systems transitions. As part of this, he is a PhD student with Wisdom University and in the advanced stages of ECOtherapy training.

Calen Rayne

Dr. Rayne is a spiritual director and Minister of Wisdom Tabernacle, an interactive, experiential exploration of world wisdom traditions in Asheville, NC. He is also an Adjunct Faculty member at Wisdom University. In both his spiritual direction and earth medicine practice, Dr. Rayne draws on experience and training in the following wisdom disciplines: labyrinth, Reiki, Kaballah, Buddhist meditation, energy healing, Himalayan singing bowl, earth energies, sacred landscapes, feng shui/space clearing, dowsing, contemplative brush, Egyptian Bio-geometry, alchemy, psychomanteum,  sacred geometry, Druid geomancy, and medical intuitive work. He has trained with alchemists of various indigenous religions, including the first religion of the Himalayas (nameless religion), known as “patterns of heaven and earth” or “sacred conventions.” Dr. Rayne builds labyrinths, designs and consults on sacred landscapes, and produces energy mandalas for healing using acrylics and contemplative brush. Dr. Rayne is a circuit-rider for Unitarian Universalist churches and member of Spritual Director’s International and UU Society for Community Ministries, where he serves as President of the Healing and Expressive Arts chapter.

Jini Rayne

Jini Rayne is a master teacher of Feng Shui and Space Clearing and Blessing, and  Reiki Master in the Usui, Japanese, Tibetan and Soul Wind traditions.

Ms. Rayne was a student and disciple of His Holiness, Grand Master Thomas Lin Yun, Rinpoche, a Chinese born feng shui master.  The late Professor Lin expanded traditional Black Sect doctrine and philosophy to include knowledge and influences from Western medicine, psychology, social science, architecture, ecology and natural science.  Jini trained extensively with Professor Lin for many years.

In addition, Ms. Rayne studied with Denise Linn, author of Sacred Space.  Interior Alignment™ which incorporates Instinctive Feng Shui ™, embraces ancient feng shui principles and little known information from native cultures as well as modern techniques for present day life.  It also includes pioneering space clearing and house blessing techniques to clear subtle energy fields. Jini completed Practitioner, Advanced Practitioner, and Teacher Training certification courses with Denise.

Jini also completed Earth Activist training and Permaculture Design Certification with Starhawk and faculty of Starhawk’s Earth Activism school.  It is the aim of permaculture to design agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the stability, diversity, and resilience of natural ecosystems.  Permaculture is a way of thinking and planning that enables people to establish highly productive environments that provide food, shelter and other material and non-material needs for the human inhabitants while also caring for the Earth.  These regenerative systems are designed so that they require minimal maintenance.
